Cree Lake is situated
on the Athabasca sandstone basin, and is Saskatchewan's fourth largest
lake. It is located 170 air miles northwest of La Ronge. It
boasts sand beaches, occasional outcroppings of Precambrian rock,
glacial boulder fields and many islands. These qualities
make Cree Lake one of the most beautiful and isolated lakes within
the province.
This camp is designed
to allow you to fish some of the finest waters in Saskatchewan for
large Northern, Lake Trout, and Grayling. You will enjoy comfortable
accommodations, good equipment and privacy in a pristine wilderness
environment.
The Species
Large Northern Pike, Lake
Trout in the trophy class, Arctic Grayling and White Fish are found
in abundance. Though difficult to locate, Walleye can also be found.
In the interest of conservation, Cree Lake Camp is designated catch
and release only, with the exception of fish to eat
while at camp.
The Facilities
Situated
upon a sand cliff overlooking the southwest corner of Cree sits
our three-bedroom lodge. We accommodate groups of 3 to 9 fishermen
and cater to ONE group at a time.
The lodge is insulated
and comes complete with hot and cold running water, propane appliances
and wood heat. The lodge is roomy and comfortable and comes with
everything that you need for light housekeeping, including bedding,
dishes and staple food.
Boats are 16' with 20
Hp motors.
Fishing on Cree Lake
Cree
Lake is a large lake so navigation and wind are key considerations.
To assist you with navigation to the hot fishing spots we provide
you with a good map, compass, and G.P.S. unit with instruction on
their use. To help locate fish we recommend you bring a portable
fish finder.
Wind, if it should occur
during your trip, may result in a bumpy ride in the open area. The
many islands and bay's enable you to find calm fishing waters even
during windy conditions.
